It is with great sadness and feeling of loss that our founder, Professor Brian R Costello has passed away on Sunday, the 7t of February 2010.

He had bravely endured weeks of pain under palliative care as an aggressive cancer of the lung took hold.

We take comfort in the knowledge that no man truly is gone from us lest all his deeds and words are forgotten. Brian has, without doubt, left his work and ideas as a lasting impression in the word of science, but also in our personal lives as a dear friend and inspiring mentor.

Along with many achievements, ICIM stands out as an example of his work were he gifted vision and inspiration to all involved, and in that spirit shall ICIM continue as a homage of how professor Brian Costello inspired so many.

May a flourishing ICIM prove to serve as a lasting memorial to his heroic efforts for so long to create an effective vehicle for conveying important knowledge on preventative medicine to people everywhere.
